'Emmerdale' is set for a shocking new storyline when Laurel and Ashley Thomas discover that baby Daniel, who died tragically, was not their real son.
According to Digital Spy, the couple are set to make the shocking discovery in the next couple of weeks.
After a series of hospital tests following baby Daniel's death, doctors discover that Laurel (played by Charlotte Bellamy) could not have been the baby's biological mother.
It is then feared that baby Daniel was swapped with another infant while he was still in hospital after his birth.
Speaking about her emotional storyline, Bellamy said: "When Laurel is told that she can't be Daniel's mother, she is in complete disbelief. She will not accept the news at all."
Viewers recently saw a similar storyline in 'Coronation Street' when Michelle Connor (played by Kym Ryder) found out that her teenage son Ryan was also switched at birth.
